Microcosms: A Homage to Sacred Plants of the Americas is an excellent example of how the harmonious and reciprocally respectful confluence of the exact sciences and the humanities opens an infinite number of new perspectives to better understand the secret life of plants.  The marriage between the beautiful images patiently obtained through confocal microscopy and the ecological text written with lyricism and intimacy, allow us to approach such overwhelming issues as the climate crisis from the point of view of the ancestral knowledge of the native cultures of this continent. This project also shows us that academic works do not need to be written in a specialized (exclusive) language to have the power to change our way of understanding the world.
